I was skeptical of the quality of this light fixture before it arrived. I was pleased that the quality is very good. Installation was quite easy. I think the fixture would look better with something other then the Philips head screws that is used to secure the bulb housing in place. Maybe something like a knurled thumb screw would look nice. When you do put the fixture’s mount screws in, use a thin handled Philip screwdriver since the clearance to the ceiling is very tight. The fixture can be rotated slightly once it is installed. The aim of the directional lights can be adjusted. Since the bulbs produce a lot of heat, you will want to use gloves to adjust the aim of each light while it is on or wait until the light housing cools off a bit just like you would with an incandescent fixture.
The halogen light bulbs produce a warm (yellow) colored light. I think I would prefer the cooler (blue) colored light but it doesn’t look like a halogen bulb of this type are available at higher temperatures (AKA cooler, blue light). I plan of using LED bulbs as replacements for the halogens.
I use the fixture as a bathroom ceiling mount in back of my small bathroom vanity. My bathroom is pretty small (10′ x 6′)and I am using the Hunter 90064 Ellipse Bathroom Fan with Light and Nightlight, Brushed Nickel with Bent-Alabaster Glass as the general bathroom light and this light fixture to brighten up the vanity area. I was able to cancel out most shadows that this directional lighting from above and behind could cast by adjusting the aim of the lights but there is still bit of shadowing.
All in all, I’m happy with the purchase of this light fixture.
